ABOUT

Marius Cornelissen Biokineticist

Initial consultation
What to expect:
Your initial consultation will be between 45-60 minutes. It will involve a discussion of your unique case history, assessment of your posture and movement with a bit of education or your injury (causes of your injury or conditions, prevention tips and the road ahead), and a few home rehab exercises to get started while understanding how exercise lead to improving your injury or life quality.

Time line:
In the same way that pyramides are not build in one day, we can not expect the same thing with our bodies. One consultation may not cure all, but it is a step in the right direction and a good start for a happy body. In the beginning, supervised training is advised because every exercise has a variety of subtle technique and style for safety and injury prevention. Scientific counsel and subtle postural clues can both benefit from a professional's eye. Although it is preferable for patients to attend multiple sessions, it is not always necessary to train every week. Your homework program will produce results based on your diligence and discipline. However, if you come for one session and only one session and expect miracles to happen, you will be disappointed. The road to recovery is long and winding. We are here to assist you on your journey. Invest now to save later.

What you need to bring along:
You will need comfortable exercise clothing for your first consultation (You will need to move and do some light exercise). If you want a thorough postural analysis, you will need to remove your shirt, so plan accordingly. Please bring any scans, medical documents, or doctor's referrals to the consultation.

Consent and documents:
New patient information forms will be completed during the assessment and any questions can be asked during the consultation at any point.

Cancellations:
We understand that life happens and that sometimes you will need to cancel or reschedule. However, the session you have booked is yours and yours alone, it cannot be re-booked at short notice. Our policy is one of integrity. If you cancel with 24 hours notice you will not be charged. If you do not arrive or do not give 24 hours notice you will be billed.
